ArkACRAO College and Career Planning Program held at ASU-Beebe
Co-sponsored by ASUB and Wilbur D. Mills Coop, approximately 800 students from 11 area high schools attended the event.
Students had the opportunity to visit with representatives from colleges, universities and technical centers in the areas of admissions, scholarship, and career planning.
Along with the Admissions Office, faculty assisted in providing information about ASUB programs in their areas of instruction.
Robin Hayes, director of ASUB Admissions, said "This is the 27th year ASU-Beebe and Wilbur D. Mills have co-sponsored this great event for high school students. It is a valuable tool as seniors in high school are considering their academic and career choices after graduation."
Sunshine Rodeo at the Two Bar Two Rodeo Arena!
Students from a number of our student organizations and departmental teams gave back to the communities around Beebe as they provided manpower, support and encouragement for children with special needs as part of the annual Sunshine Rodeo event.
This year's event was held at the Two-Bar-Two Arena at the Crossroads' Cowboy Church in El Paso, Arkansas. Over 300 special needs children and their school instructors, assistants and parents came out for the rodeo. The event enables these children to get a chance to experience rodeo events like calf roping, saddle-bronc riding, barrel racing and horseback riding, all in a controlled environment under close supervision and encouragement.
This is the 22nd year for the annual rodeo-themed field trip for the area schools with special needs programs, and ASU-Beebe Agriculture Department staff say this is one event that students always want to participate in to give back to the community.
